Meeting and Greeting Phrases

Basic Greeting Phrases

  • Become proficient in common greetings such as 你好 (hello), 早上好 (good morning), 下午好 (good afternoon), 晚上好 (good evening).
  • Learn to use appropriate titles and honorifics to show respect, such as 先生 (Mr.), 女士 (Mrs./Ms.), and 小姐 (Miss).
  • Gain knowledge in expressions of good wishes, e.g., 再见 (goodbye), 晚安 (goodnight), 一路平安 (have a safe journey).

Greeting According to Time and Occasion

  • Mastery in using greetings suited to different times of the day, like 晚安 (good night), or to different festive occasions, such as 新年快乐 (Happy New Year).
