Understanding the Content
- Remember to listen carefully to the overall message of the recording.
- Pinpoint principal ideas and be able to understand them.
- Comprehend main points from conversations and discussions.
- Identify details, arguments, and ideas that are directly communicated.
Gaining Insights about Speaker
- Understand information regarding the speaker's identity (like name, age, etc.).
- Acknowledge the speaker's opinions, viewpoints, and attitudes.
- Recognise the mood or tone of the speaker by paying attention to the speaker's voice and expression.
Pinpointing Key Information
- Pay attention to key vocabulary; these words can often give you the gist of the conversation.
- Note down important names, dates, times, places, etc., while listening.
- Identify figures and amounts discussed in the conversation and understand their context.
Using Linguistic Cues
- Understand the usage of common expressions and idioms in conversations, as they often express the speaker's viewpoint or add a special contextual meaning.
